Features of VLESS + vision Protocol
The VLESS + Vision protocol is a relatively new approach developed to bypass China’s Great Firewall (GFW). It is also effective against internet restrictions in other countries.
During the 2024 National People’s Congress (NPC), just under 50% of servers were restricted. However, during the 2025 NPC, 100% servers successfully avoided restrictions.
This operates faster than the OpenConnect method and offers better connection stability.
Terms Used in Configuration
Subscription or Subscription Link: A feature that registers multiple servers in the VPN app at once. This eliminates the need for users to manually enter passwords or add new servers.
Subscription Update: When you update the subscription from the app, the latest server information is automatically configured. If any servers are discontinued, they will be automatically removed from the app.
Preparation and Precautions
Restart your Phone or Tablet first. This clears any leftover data in the device’s memory.
Do not use the browser yet. Complete all VPN setup steps before opening your browser.
Temporarily disable any antivirus or security software. Security programs may mistakenly recognize the VPN app as malware and block or delete it.

Downloading and Installing the App
Please install the app via the Apple Store using the link below. The same app is used on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Download and Install ➣ Karing
If your country/region is set to China, VPN apps cannot be installed. If you cannot find Cisco Secure Client in the Apple Store, change your region of Apple Acount to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, etc.

How to get the subscription link
Click the link below to open it.
Tap [Click here to copy to clipboard] button.
Click [OK]. Depending on your browser, it may appear as [Close] instead of [OK].
Launching the App and Initial Setup
Launching the Karing App
When starting the app or during setup, a security confirmation screen mayappear. Please allow it.
You will see the Terms of Service screen. Tap [Accept & Continue]
You can choose the display language from English, Chinese, Russian, or Arabic.
This guide is based on the English interface.
・Select [English]
・Tap [Next]
A list of countries will appear.
Select the country you are currently staying in to use the app accordingly. In this guide, we assume use from China.
Even if you are currently in another country, select China if you intend to use the app as if you were in China.
Use the search bar at the top and type “cn”.
Select [CN China] from the search results.
Advanced configuration options will appear. These are already optimized for the selected country.
Please do not change anything.
・Tap [Next]
[Novice Mode] is enabled by default.
・Leave it as is and tap [Next]
※ This app has many features. To keep things simple, unused options are hidden by default.
Registering a Subscription Link
Although there are many settings available, you only need to configure two boxes at the bottom:
1 In [Profile Link/Content], paste the subscription link you previously copied.
2 In the box below, enter any name you like (e.g., KABENEKO).
3 Tap the [✔] icon in the upper right corner.
A success message will appear.

The basic setup is now complete.
Connect to the server
Tap the [red button] located at the bottom of the app’s main screen.
The red indicator shows that the VPN is currently disconnected.
The first time you connect, the app will ask for permission to configure the VPN. Please tap “Allow”.
After that, if your iPhone asks for authentication (such as PIN code or biometric verification), please approve it as well.
After a few seconds, the red button will turn green. This means the connection is complete.
While the VPN is connected, a [VPN] icon will appear on the screen of your iPhone or iPad.
【⚠】: On some iPhone models, the [VPN] icon might not appear at the top of the screen even when the VPN is connected.
This applies to models with a notch at the top of the screen, such as the iPhone 12 (mini / Pro / Pro Max), iPhone 11, and iPhone X.
Even in this case, as long as the connection button in the app indicates that the VPN is active, you can rest assured that it is working properly.

How to Select a Server
When Auto Select is enabled, the app will choose the server with the fastest response.In the example above, TK-V018 was selected. In most cases, Auto Select works without any issues.
However, you can manually select a server using the following method.
Tap the [ > ] icon at the bottom of the main screen.
1 [Auto Select]： Automatically selects the best server based on latency.
2 Manual Select：Tap on any listed server to choose it manually.
3 [Direct]：Connects without using a VPN. This is only useful for testing.
Connection Mode
[Rule]: This option allows you to access websites and apps in your current country without using the VPN. It is useful, for example, when using Chinese apps.
[Global]: Select this if you want all traffic to go through the VPN. In this mode, you may need to disconnect the VPN to use certain local apps in your country.
If you are connecting from within China, please make sure to select [Rule] mode.
How to Confirm VPN Connection
Check the following page in your browser:
If the IP address displayed matches the server IP you configured, the VPN is working correctly.
You will also see the COUNTRY and CITY displayed. However, this location detection may sometimes be inaccurate — use it as a reference only.
How to Disconnect the VPN
Select the button you used to connect.
When the button turns red, the disconnection is complete.
Updating the Subscription (Latest Server List)
Why Update the Subscription?
Updating the subscription link allows you to:
- Reflect any password changes
- Add new servers automatically
- Remove deprecated servers
- Push heavily-used servers lower in the list
In other words, more popular servers are shown further down.
How to Update
Tap the [>] icon in the lower right of the main screen.
In the XCountries row, tap the [cloud icon].
The update is completed instantly.
Note: The Karing app automatically refreshes the subscription every 12 hours. However, if you change your password, you must update the subscription link manually.
